I use both, I've already said that.

Depends on where I am and the journey I make.

"And you think that's fair?"

Yes! Of course! If you're asking that question then you clearly don't understand the concept.

Given the choice between having no Ubers available, or having the option of paying a higher price for an Uber, it's a pretty fucking obvious which is preferable.

If you don't want to pay the higher price you can use another service provider (minicab, Adison Lee, Black Cab etc.) or take another mode of transport (bus, tube, whatever). Nobody is making you take an Uber.

Going on holiday is slightly different to a fucking cab ride, B-man.

i'd have thought that cabbies' worst enemy isn't johnny foreigner as much as it is the bloke who invented the satellite and made the "skilled" part of their profession largely redundant.

Absolutely. Cuntish it may be, but it happens everywhere. Flights, hotels, there's so much that changes when it comes to demand.

I feel for the cabbies tbh, but I use Uber purely due to cost.

And you think that's fair?

At least the Black cabbies never change their fares.

Their fares go up and down to manage supply i.e. to ensure there are the appropriate number of drivers on the road to meet demand. It's a very simple concept that so many people are unable to grasp.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
Uber don't pay any tax and are leeching off the rest of us for the use of roads, upkeep of networks and emergency services.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
Those who are bumming Uber won't be when they get a cab and the fare is double due to the business.

Their fares go up and down depending on how busy they are. Which is cuntish.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
Uber will win their appeal, but the authorities will just limit them on other battlefields ; making their drivers pay £ 11-50 per day congestion charge, with future rises beyond that (black cabs are exempt), stricter and expensive individual licences and checks, etc
.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
Technology has made the knowledge redundant. Price and service will determine the medium term future of cabbing until there is another tech step change.

Please find a post where I said i'm a fan of him?

Merely pointing out people are so mislead by the media it's untrue.

If that makes me a cunt, I can live with that.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
The only problem with Uber is their surge pricing.

Could get an Uber home from our Xmas party at 8.30 for $45.

Tried to get an Uber at 11.30 and it was $160.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
The bullshit on this thread stinks.

I've got no issues with uber really, had some pleasant enough journeys with them, albeit having to direct them at times.

Same with black cab drivers, I've never encountered a rude arrogant driver.

Usually cunts attract cunts.

Brucies_Star_Prize 11:49 Wed Feb 27
Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
This is just a small battle in the context of a larger structural trend, that will fundamentally change how we travel.

To suggest that a Black Cab driver can predict routes more efficiently than an app like Waze is nonsense. In the not-to-distant future this technology will evolve to successfully direct driverless cars with optimal efficiency.

The benefits of car ownership will diminish with readily available and cheap road transport without any of the overheads. Manual vehicle operators will be redundant.

Re: Cabbies lose high court battle with Uber
The biggest difference I’ve noticed between black cabbies and Uber drivers is that Uber drivers don’t seem to play golf.
